Staff Saito's LET'S GET COOKIN' = Snoop Dogg's Cooking Class =
"A" LABEL is a content series where APPLEBUM staff freely delve into things, events, and products they wholeheartedly recommend.
This time, it's staff Saito's "I tried making it" project lol
Snoop Dogg's cookbook.
I bought it immediately out of curiosity right after it was released in Japan, but it ended up gathering dust on my bookshelf.
But then it occurred to me, "How many people actually make these recipes?"
So, I decided to try making one myself.
This time, I tried the [Orange Chicken with White Rice].

■ My thoughts on making it
The taste was, of course, absolutely delicious!
The balance of sweetness and sourness was just right,
and it perfectly replicated the classic "American Chinese" dish.
I've always loved orange chicken,
and I always order it when I go to Panda Express, but
this recipe truly captured that "junk food vibe" and I was extremely satisfied with the result.
■ The appeal of this book
The charm of this book lies in the fact that it's not just a regular cookbook.
It features unique dish names that will make any HIPHOP fan chuckle,
and it naturally makes you want to try making the next one.

Furthermore, it's great that it includes a detailed substitution list so you can recreate the recipes with Japanese seasonings (a feature unique to the Japanese translated version!).
I truly felt that this book is one-of-a-kind, being both practical as a cookbook and thoroughly imbued with cultural flavor.
■ Its appeal as reading material
The translator's notes are also interesting, providing polite and helpful explanations of things like Rick Ross, his family structure, and even American family restaurants like IHOP.
It's structured so that you can naturally learn about hip-hop and American cultural backgrounds, not just cooking, so I think it's quite enjoyable as reading material as well.

■ Summary
The good thing about this book is that you feel connected to the culture, including the time spent cooking.
A new way to experience hip-hop through "food."
It was a book that made me want to try another recipe.
P.S.: I just looked at Amazon and saw that
【Snoop Dogg and E-40's Cooking Class】 was released last year! Lol
I just have to buy it!
