"WE LOVE STICKERS"

The latest installment of “A” LABEL will delve into "sticker culture," something everyone loves.


We customize our belongings like laptops, record cases, and skateboards to make them unique.

When walking through the city, we see utility poles, signboards, and vending machines covered in stickers.

Many stickers exist around us.


"That's the one I got back then."
"It's pasted here too."
"This sticker brings back memories."


Every time I see them, the atmosphere and memories from that time come flooding back.





Stickers are a very important part of street culture.

Many people are still captivated by their charm as a tool to express "what they like" and "who they are."


Even without large advertisements, stickers allow us to share our values with friends and broadcast them to the world.

In a way, stickers are the "smallest media."


Where to put,
What sticker to use,
How to stick it.


Originality and the desire to express oneself reside there too.


Looking at stickers on a skateboard or PC,

"You have this sticker."
"Does that mean you're connected to [XX]?"

This kind of conversation arising is what I love about this culture.





Furthermore, a culture of exchanging stickers, much like exchanging business cards, has emerged, not just sticking them.

It feels like a person's values and preferences are naturally expressed there.


I myself love sticker culture, and my heart still races when I encounter a sticker I've never seen before.


By the way, about 15 years ago, I covered a small table with stickers, but it became oversized trash when I moved.

I felt a little wasteful, but at the time, I thought of it as decluttering and said goodbye to it with a lingering reluctance.


Last year, I was again compelled to cover something with stickers, and I covered both sides of my drawer at work. (LOL)

When covered, it became a collection of different personalities, and a mere drawer transformed into a unique piece of furniture.

My affection for it is immeasurable. (LOL)







And, this is the refrigerator that has been here since I was a teenager and first visited APPLEBUM!







It's still going strong today. LOL



Also, in writing this article, I pulled out some old APPLEBUM stickers for the first time in a while.





Suddenly, I felt nostalgic, realizing they were stored in this box. LOL

Inside were various stickers.

Oh, the memories!

We photographed an actual basketball and finished it with the image of sealing in its texture and atmosphere.

Instead of a print or illustration, it was created with the feeling of cutting out the "real thing" as it is.
