"There are as many 'correct answers' as there are people"

Hello.
This is Aoyagi.

The other day, when we were eating curry, we were discussing whether to put rice in the curry roux or pour curry over the rice.

Until now, I've been eating curry over rice, but the person I ate with did the opposite.

When asked why, he said, "Because the curry sauce gets on the rice plate, which makes washing it a pain."

I was a little surprised and convinced that there was such a way of thinking.

By the way, I used to eat curry over rice for no particular reason, probably just based on the ``image of curry'' in my head.

And from this day onwards I started putting rice in the curry roux and eating it. (laughs)

"The right answer for whom?"

This casual incident made me realize something again.

This means that what is "right" is truly different for each person.

I came across a phrase in a book that has stayed in my mind ever since.

That sentence is, "In Japan alone, there are 100 million different ways of being correct."

For example, when someone says, "That's not right," or when you feel, "This is better."

I think that behind this decision lie hidden questions such as "For whom?" and "For what purpose?"

We tend to think of things in terms of a binary choice of "right" or "wrong," but in reality, I think there are as many forms of "right" as there are people.

What may be the best choice for one person may feel strange to another.

That's why I think it's important to use words that are based on yourself, such as "This is what I think" or "This way works for me," when expressing your opinion.

I think my own thoughts will change, and the "correct answer" will change from moment to moment.

The meaning of my message

I would like to share the experiences I have had and the moments that have moved me with as many people as possible.

If sharing this information helps someone gain an insight or inspires a small change, I would be extremely happy.

Then, all of a sudden, I thought about skateboarding, which I love.

I also believe that there is no "right answer" when it comes to skateboarding.

Even if you skate the same spot, it will look and feel completely different depending on the skater.

The trick choices and approaches are very free and reflect each skater's own rhythm and sense.

It's truly a culture where there are as many styles as there are people.

By sharing the ideas generated in this way, other people's perspectives can stimulate your own senses and provide hints for completely new forms of expression, leading to your next action or creation.

It's exciting and sounds like an ideal world to me.

lastly

Each person has their own sense of "righteousness."

People's thoughts and values are diverse, and I think it's rare to completely agree with someone.

But we acknowledge it without denying it.

We accept our differences and move forward together, sometimes in harmony.

I think that kind of attitude is important.

On the other hand, there may be times when you think, "Maybe this is wrong," and find it difficult to speak or act.

In times like these, why not take a step forward with the mindset that it's natural to have different opinions from others?
