"First Step"
Hello.
This is Aoyagi.
Recently, the mornings and evenings have been getting a little cooler.
The change of seasons is strangely a time when you feel like trying something new.
But at the same time, I often end up just thinking about it in my head, thinking things like, "This is such a hassle" or "Is there really any point in doing this?"
In the end, what matters is whether or not you take the first step.
Once you take that first step, good or bad results are sure to follow.
If it's good, then keep doing it, and if you put more effort into it, it will get even better.
Even if it's bad, just fix it and move on to the next one.
If you don't take the first step, it's neither good nor bad.
In the end, it's the same as doing nothing.
Even if it's not work-related, taking the first step can give you many new realizations and lessons.
For example, when you try a new trick on a skateboard, you may end up failing and feeling frustrated.
But strangely enough, during this challenge, I sometimes get hints like, "Maybe I can do a different technique if I do it this way."
The same goes for mixing on records.
Even though I thought, "These two songs probably won't go together," when I put them together, I was surprised to find that a new groove was born that was beyond my imagination.
It gives me goosebumps.
Even at that moment, I would never have realized it if I hadn't tried it.
There may be times when you fail or make mistakes, but if you see these as opportunities for growth and learning, I believe that taking that "first step" will all turn out to be a positive thing.
That's why, no matter what you do, you should always take the first step.
To take action.
I tell myself that if I'm just thinking and not taking action, it's the same as not thinking at all.
I try to keep this feeling in mind when I try something new.
What "first step" will you take?
