"A masterpiece that gave me goosebumps once again"
Hello.
This is Aoyagi.
I am grateful to have the opportunity to DJ on an irregular basis.
I always choose music after learning about the event.
Just recently, while I was selecting music, I came across a nostalgic album.
It's been a while since I last listened to this song and I thought, "It's the best after all!" 'Rise' by Herb Alpert.
By the way, the first time I heard this song was through The Notorious BIG's "Hypnotize."
I had always wondered what that catchy track was, and then I came across this record.
The culture of sampling is really interesting and deep.
Discovering new music has become one of the joys of my life.
"Rise" was released in 1979 by jazz trumpeter Herb Alpert, and became a huge hit on the pop charts, transcending the boundaries of jazz and fusion.
Moreover, at the time, it seemed quite rare for an instrumental song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
I only found out later, as this was before I was born.
My favorite part of this song is the way the trumpet comes in at the intro!
It gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
When I mix it, it's really exciting.
The slow tempo and simple yet sophisticated groove are incredibly cool.
It has an urban atmosphere that is both relaxing and uplifting.
Being sampled has allowed it to be connected across the ages and enjoyed in new ways, which is great.
I listened to Herb Alpert's "Rise" for the first time in a while and got hooked all over again, and it really shows that this classic song never fades!
