"MF Doom - Mm..Food"
Today, July 13th, is MF Doom's birthday.
So, let me introduce you to this album.
"MF Doom - Mm..Food"
First, let me briefly explain about MF Doom.
===================
Originally from London, England.
As a child, he moved to Long Island, New York, USA.
Active in the late 80's.
Originally called "KMD" and called "Zev Love X", they changed their name to "MF Doom" in 1997.
He has released over 10 albums, including under aliases such as 'King Geedorah', 'Viktor Vaughn' and ' Metal Fingers'.
On October 31, 2020, he died at the young age of 49.
===================
If I were to sum it up very concisely, I wouldn't be able to convey the appeal at all, but I think that MF Doom is definitely the superstar of underground hip-hop.
This album was released in 2004.
Released from my favorite label "Rhymesayers"!
A beat with MF Doom's unique smoky and moderately weak feeling.
A brutal rap with a low voice.
It's the best album of his character.
I also like the illustration on the jacket.
Among them, let me introduce two songs that I would like to recommend in particular.
First of all, the first song "Beef Rap"
In the hip-hop world, a dispute between artists is called Beef.
This song is an ironic song about the rappers who take off their clothes and stand on the stage at that time.
Back then, there were a lot of rappers who were shirtless.
Among the lyrics, I sing things like "get dressed" and "at least button it up". (lol)
Another song is "Potholderz" with "Count Bass D".
I also love "Count Bass D", and the dialogue between the two is the best.
By the way, "Count Bass D" is a rapper that designer Miyao also loves, and when it's just the two of us at the office, we often listen to " Count Bass D". (lol)
There's more I want to write about, but I'll stop here.
When he passed away, many artists from all over the world and generations expressed their condolences.
Without a doubt, he has had a great influence on the current music scene.
Today, I'm going to listen to MF Doom's songs, centering on this album.
