"Salami techniques recommended for those who don't have much time"
Hello.
This is Aoyagi.
In this column,
"There are things I want to do, but I can't seem to get started"
"We can't proceed according to schedule"
Here are some very practical techniques for those who struggle with time.
It's called the "Salami Technique"
I learned about it in a book I read recently, and when I tried it myself, I found it to be very effective!
What is the salami technique?
Simply put, it's a method of breaking down large tasks or projects into smaller pieces and working on them one by one to reduce the psychological burden and steadily achieve your goals.
It's like slicing salami thinly, cutting it into bite-sized pieces and eating it little by little.
In fact, I use it when writing my weekly column.
=====
Tuesday: Decide on the column title. Wednesday: Create the column structure. Thursday: Write the main text.
=====
By dividing it up like this, you'll feel less pressured to do it all at once and be able to move forward more smoothly.
There are many other situations where it can be applied.
For example, when reading a book.
On the first day, read the table of contents and preface → On the second day, start reading the main text.
By dividing it into small sections, such as these, you can continue without straining yourself.
When you try something new ◎
It is also recommended for those times when you want to start something but the hurdles are too high to take the first step.
By taking small steps one after the other, you naturally feel like you're moving forward, which feels great!
If you feel like you don't have much time, be sure to give it a try!
