"Time and Action"

Hello.
This is Aoyagi.

Happy New Year.

How did you spend your New Year holidays?

I relaxed incredibly much and recharged my mental and physical energy to 120%.

I plan to hit the ground running again this year.

Since this is the first column of the new year, I'd like to write about my personal theme for this year.

This year, I plan to be more conscious of "time" and "action" than ever before.

Something that is universally and equally given to all of humanity.

That is "time."

Although age, gender, income, position, and environment differ, there are 24 hours in a day and 365 days in a year.

This alone does not change for anyone.

We often say, "How do we use our limited time?" While relaxing during the New Year holidays, I thought more deeply about this and came to my own conclusion.

"How do we turn limited time into 'action'?"

After all, if we don't take some kind of action, won't time fail to transform into any value?

This is the thought I arrived at.

For example, have you ever opened Netflix and found an hour had passed while you were deciding "What should I watch?"

If you had used that hour to "act" by watching one show without hesitation, the worldview and ideas of that work would surely remain within you.

Even the same hour yields completely different results depending on whether it was spent just thinking or if it led to action.

No matter how deeply you worry,
No matter how seriously you think,
No matter how strong your feelings are,

Time spent only in your head does not translate into any real value or learning.

However, the moment you take even one step of action, even if it's wrong, that time transforms into "experience," "learning," and "value."

I don't want to eliminate thinking time.

However, once you've thought, you must act properly.

To avoid wasting the time spent thinking, I want to be conscious of this.

I was thinking about such things during the New Year holidays. (laughs)

Well then, everyone, I look forward to working with you again this year!
