"Brand New Kicks" Giclee Print

I'm Toyohara, a staff member.
This time we will be introducing a giclee print of "Brand New Kicks" by artist MAMI .
This work was created in 2006, when APPLEBUM was still unknown.
It was born at a time when people were still groping around trying to figure out how to communicate the brand's worldview to people.
This work captures the spirit of the brand itself, capturing the simple moment of just a few seconds spent lacing up sneakers.
When you get a new pair of sneakers,
That feeling of a little pride, of being a little bit taller.
By giving shape to those real feelings,
I want to connect emotionally with someone who is similarly moved by culture.
This work is filled with such feelings.
The picture shows a pure white NIKE AF1 .
In the streets of the 1990s, especially in the hip hop community of New York, shoes were a part of grooming and culture.
Even in Japan, for the sensitive young heads of the time,
I think it wasn't just a pair of sneakers, but an icon of the era .
The AF1 is also the origin of APPLEBUM.
