"HARDCORE" T-shirt

Hello.
I'm Toyohara, a staff member.

This time, we will introduce the "HARDCORE" T-shirt from the 2025 Spring/Summer collection.

The word "HARDCORE".

These may seem like intense or even scary words, but
It has a deeper meaning in hip hop culture.

"HARDCORE" refers to a harsh living environment or way of life,
It has been used as a word to describe a serious attitude of having unwavering pride in one's skills and style and boasting about oneself.

In Japanese, some people say it in a slightly funny way, ``Harco.''

Especially in New York and Tokyo in the early 1990s (until around 1994),

"HARDCORE" had the value of being "tough and cool."

One person who embodied these values was Redman, a rapper from Newark.

Redman made his recording debut in 1990 with the hip-hop duo EPMD's song "Hardcore," and has since left a lasting mark on the hip-hop scene.

Among them, the 1996 masterpiece "Muddy Waters" is a legendary album that is still talked about today.

The sequel, Muddy Waters Too, was released in 2024 and is once again attracting attention.

This is still relevant today, but the reason rappers, dancers, and skaters would wear towels over their heads or pull the hoods of their hoodies down was because they were influenced by and imitated this style at the time.

It was a time when even if you went to a store that sold dubbed (copied) videotapes of music videos, which were once an important source of information, or a store that sold imported clothing, the staff would not even look you in the eye or speak to you.

It was a hardcore era where even shopping could mean risking your life, requiring you to dress up, enter the store, and muster up the courage to strike up a conversation.

The value at the time was that "HIPHOP should be hardcore."

It brings back nostalgic feelings.

↑A song that Manager Aoyagi also likes↑
B-boys and "heads" of the time were crazy about his style.

He is also known for his collaboration with Method Man of Wu-Tang Clan, and has expanded into the world of film as well as music.

So,

This T-shirt features a sample of Redman's font, placed as a focal point on the left chest.

The message "PEACE TO THE HARDCORE" is printed on the back as a sign of respect for that era.

The body is made of APPLEBUM's 12 oz ultra heavyweight fabric.
It has a heavy thickness and presence, like Redman's rap.
Although the fabric is extremely thick, it feels surprisingly smooth to the touch.
The original silhouette design features a wide chest and shoulder width and a short length.

This T-shirt is filled with the atmosphere of the early 90s, the seriousness and aesthetics of hip-hop, and a love for the street.
Why not try adding this piece to your wardrobe?

By the way, my personal favorite song is " PEACE TO DA HARDCORE"
KGE THE SHADOWMEN has a song with a really cool rap,
Please give it a listen as well.
