Hamaguchi Ken graduated from Tama Art University in 1997 with a major in Japanese painting.
While focusing on illustration, he also made his debut as an artist in 2008 with his solo exhibition "Black, Sutras, and Others" (Takahashi Collection Kagurazaka), where he created paintings primarily based on pop culture and subculture motifs, including music.
